About the Farm

Welcome to Thistlebrook Farm! The family purchased the circa 1952 Winfred Jennings Thomas farm in 2024, with the dream of sharing their home grown and homemade goods with others.  The property included a massive horse barn, workshop with blacksmithing area, stableboy's quarters and a completely renovated main house. The property had remained in the same family since 1952 and was primarily used to raise Haflinger horses and beagles. 

Evan is the chief project manager (while still working full time) on the farm and has been working tirelessly clearing land, building chicken coops, installing goat pens and fencing, fixing leaks and installing hardscape. He was raised in Iowa and is very familiar with farm life!

Wendy, a recently retired middle school science teacher, cares for the livestock, grows and forages herbs, and makes soaps and salves. She was blessed to have spent many of her early childhood years with close friends on their Mennonite farm in Harrisonburg, VA. The skills and lessons she learned from her "Aunt Virginia" and "Uncle Warren" have remained with her to this day. 

Having raised two sons, who live nearby, the couple looks forward to this next chapter in their life!
